Bobby Aitken | Sound Designer
Bobby began his career in TV sound, before going on to the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry. He has been involved with theatre sound for over twenty years throughout the United Kingdom and around the world.
Bobby is the Sound Designer for the London 2012 Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
In theatre, his current and recent work includes GHOST (London/Broadway), MAMMA MIA! (worldwide), GREASE (London/UK tour), DIRTY DANCING (worldwide), LENNON (Broadway), WE WILL ROCK YOU (worldwide), BLAST! (London, US) and RETURN TO THE FORBIDDEN PLANET (worldwide). Other theatre credits include FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE, WHICH WITCH, METROPOLIS, Pete Townshend's THE IRON MAN, IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR, HIGH SOCIETY, TIME, A SAINT SHE AIN'T, THE BEST OF TIMES, SOUL TRAIN, THE FIX, THE BEGGAR'S OPERA and BARTHOLOMEW FAIR for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
His opera credits include CARMEN, MADAME BUTTERFLY, AÏDA, CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA and I PAGLIACCI, TOSCA and LA BOHÈME.
In 2005, Bobby won the Helpmann Award for Best Sound Design for the Australian production of WE WILL ROCK YOU.
